Beloved Blue

Blue and white has always been a craved combination, home design and fashion the same. The Slough is packed to the brim and we are loving every minute. Cloudlike chambray jeans from Paige offer and distinctive look, paired with a solid button up, for a preppy ensemble or black for a dash of edge, the preference becomes limitless. How about a tunic? A quick beach cover up, or my personal favorite, a white on white approach. Do you have your white jeans for the summer?

Shoes!! Who doesn't love shoes? This salt has the honor of being another bridesmaid next weekend and is in need of shoes. Its always an honor to be part of someones special day. The bride was generous enough to allow any black shoe to go with our dress, but Omgahh options! The wedding is outside so wedges are a must, and as a salt, they should be simple (this isnt my wedding). They have to be black, and I always require a heel,@ 5'3 with a t-length dress, oh so necessary.So where to start? The stellar ankle strap is fore fronting the brain, but with so many options its getting more difficult.

 

What are some ways to narrow? Ask yourself

1 Whats the weather report?

2. Dressy or Casual?

3. Dress length? ( very important to elongate the leg)

4. Comfort? (some say beauty is pain, not when the attention isnt on you)

Finders Keepers.

The trip to Charleston didnt quite go as planned, but thats Ok! Raleigh was just as good, its where I went to school and will always hold a peice of my heart, not to mention the shopping was great. Im coveting a few of my finds..

Fringe boots on sale, what a SCORE! And a bud vase in a high gloss white, super smile. I cant wait for some spray roses, Im thinking orange.

Scouting.

The husband surprised me yesterday with the news that we will be leaving for Charleston tomorrow!! #majormoment. Salt's love to travel and Charleston? Who wouldn't love that. After last nite's episode of the RZP it is a must to find, and purchase, a floppy hat. Clearly its Bohemium chic to the height of excellence. Me, Charleston, sunnies,floppy hat and JLove- its the perfect 5 for 5 years of marrital bliss.

What to wear when gardening.

Every year when spring rolls around I instantly believe I am the ultimate gardener. Contrary to belief however, I am not. It would be nice to blame it on the salt but we know that isn't the case. The Slough needed some freshies for the porch and although shopping for them was a blast, making sure they are comfortable was quite another task. The outfit of choice was not the smartest so today the Salty Girl would like to give a heads up on what to rock. There is no need for a scrunchy and yoga pants, so try this!


PS  Why nailpolish and Mascara? You will most likely sweat- dont wear makeup,
and fingernail polish- its just gross to see dirty nails.

Shoes + Shorts = Summer Ensemble

Shorts have never been a must quite like they are this season. Its exciting but honestly, a new venture for me, blessed with short legs never made me quite comfortable in shorts.The Slough has unpacked quite a variety of shorts, from chambray to leather. The style side of the short has had an awe inspiring twist..HEELS! I will never forget when a handful of my college girlfriends and I decided to venture out in Milan (cira 2006) one night, yeah Italy! Super fun night, and @ 23 I don't remember much but I will never forget seeing a group of young girls rocking heels with shorts #majormoment. It was love at first sight, so new from any style I had picked up on in America. Not any longer!!

Blush Crush.

 

Having a major blush crush!! Its always been a must before a dart out the door, but now..in textile!! The femininity and innocence becomes an interesting duo paired with black pumps or the all to popular boyfriend jean. As a lover of everything black I have quickly embraced blush (not pink). The hue can be somewhat tricky considering my dark hair so the sunshine and white denim is calling.

We Salts are thrilled with the newest threads. Anything cut off or cut out, its a Yes Please! As soon as we could get the goods out of the box it was an immediate photo op #majormoment. An absolute blast that has triggered an even bigger need for warm weather!

Its quite windy and slightly chilly here on the Outer Banks, its a no go to the bikini. But that is just fine, grab a good book and hit the beach. Envelope yourself in a warm cardigan, throw on some shades and sit back soaking up salt air listening to the sounds of a relentless ocean.

Tribal? There is nothing wrong with a tribal suprise for another season, its a look I have enjoyed taking part in for quite some time. A low key and casual feel is a salty girls delight, with a sun tan and salt matted hair, an effortless classic.

 

 

Have you rocked the rolled boyfriend? It is soooo salty girl. Loving on it, most especially when paired with pointy toe pumps, the closing statement to a perfect get up!
